How do you learn to read Palestinian embroidery?
Susu Habayeb & Serene Habayeb
September 25, 2016
Palestinian embroidery serves as a “visual language” and tells stories of the social identity of the women who wore the designs across the region. Our presentation explores the different styles across the country and within different social statuses. We then briefly explore collections of these pieces today and look at how they help to preserve Palestinian heritage.
